Gourmet coffee blend
The defining characteristic of our Cafe Crema blend is its smoothness. This is a silky and elegant blend, with a very rich body and mouth feel. The finish is long and delicate and completely free of bitterness. Although the taste is smooth, Cafe Crema does has enough bite to make the flavour interesting, and reasonable caffiene levels at around 11mg in a standard espresso. It is very popular in fine restaurants as an after-dinner coffee.
The main bean is a specialist Daterra coffee, which we select for its smoothness and consistency from season to season. We compliment the choclatey taste notes of the Daterra with slightly more acidic high-grown Ethopian beans and small, dark, dry-fermented Bolivian beans, which we roast in small batches in our smallest roaster. The abundant crema is a result of careful blending and great vigilance in roasting.
